Sparkle Overdose

This is probably the sparkliest manicure I've ever worn, and I'm okay with that. My camera wasn't able to truly capture the majesty of all of the sparkles, but rest assured that it was pretty phenomenal.


The base is two coats of China Glaze Frostbite, which is a pretty fantastic colour all on its own. It's a BRIGHT blue shimmer, and it turned out to be a polish that Kirsten and I had some trouble tracking down. We originally tried to order it online from 8ty8, but it was sold out. Boo. Then when we discovered that we had a Sally's within a reasonable distance, we looked for it there, but it was sold out again. Boo.

And then I went to Sally's a few weeks later and found it. Yay!

On top of Frostbite is one coat of FingerPaints Laugh My Art Off, which is a clear base full of light-ish blue glitter. I'm not sure how many coats it would take to make it opaque, but I felt like one was more than enough for layering on top of Frostbite.


Finally, just to add more sparkles, I added a coat of Renova Venus Glaze. I mentioned it in my post about things I bought on holiday in Mexico, but in case you missed it, it's a clear (mostly) base, jam packed with glass-fleck shimmer.





I have a sad announcement to make. I broke a nail shortly after taking these pictures. It wasn't just a simple little tear that could be repaired, but an actual piece of my nail came right off. :( That means that these pictures are the last long nail pictures (although I'm well aware that compared to lots of other people, these nails are still quite short) that you'll be seeing for a long time. Instead of having one short nail and a bunch of long ones, I just filed them all down. So sad.
