Hi lacquered lovelies! What a Tuesday... as some of you might know, there was an election in Canada yesterday. A very important one with baffling results. I'll try to keep my politics out of this but let me just say that it's going to be a long wait to 2015.
EDIT (and to be expanded): While I'm just saying things, let me say that this post will be edited later to talk about my love for Ginger Kitty Designs and my respect for the talented woman behind it all, Tracey. Unfortunately, my phone won't let me do much from it and I didn't go to bed til 4:30 AM, so I will do it when I wake up again. OKAY so this was a bit later than expected but I'm sure you guys have all seen Tracey's jewelry. It's beautiful and perfect for lacquerheads, since it's made with nail polish! Remember my post on my awesome ring? It was love at first sight. Just to refresh your memory with a quick picture, here's why!
Recently, we've noticed a few people trying to copy Tracey popping up. Honestly, guys, these other rings can't compare. Tracey has been doing this for three years and has really mastered the technique. Her jewelry looks elegant (I'm sorry, but some of the other things I've seen look a bit cheap - just my opinion though) and I always get compliments and questions when I wear this ring. I know today's been a day of love for Tracey but she really deserves it. Her jewelry is so unique and beautiful and it's really going to be the best jewelry you're going to get that's created from nail polish! You can check her store out here. She also posts discount codes and other cool deals on her blog. Trust me, you won't regret a purchase from Tracey, she's a complete sweetheart!
Today I have an orange for you. Yes, I know. But I didn't post one last week! I really need to just do a week of greens or something. I've neglected them terribly and I feel awful about it. Greens and glitters. It's like orange and I just ran off together and I left my kids and dog behind. It's awful.
So this is China Glaze Free Love, another polish from my haul. It's from the 2009 Retro Diva collection and it is delicious. It's a very fall orange (fitting since Retro Diva was the fall offering from ChG that year), it looks like fire with gold shimmahhhh, but I think the shimmer makes it okay for spring/summer... right? Ah well, I never pay much attention to that whole "seasonal colours" thing anyway. Not my bag. Enough talky talky! I should add that this was three coats - I felt like two was a little bit sheer for my liking and I didn't want to have VNL when I was taking pictures the next day - macro lets you discover all kinds of fun things. Now, onto the pictures!
Yummmmmmm. I did love this but I don't know if I liked it on me... I think it would look better on my mommalom. She's got a warmer skintone than I do.
That's it from me today, short and sweet! What do you think? I love the polishes I have from this collection, I think I need more of them. Let's Groove and Stella are le gorg. Are you getting sick of seeing oranges? I'm sorry. Better question, what would you like to see more of? I will do my best to accommodate your requests, promise!
Have a beautiful day!
