Hello lacquered lovelies! Yay it's Wednesday :) I'm actually sort of feeling pink polish lately. It fits in with this weird neutral kick I've been finding myself on every couple of days. I KNOW. But it fits today because yayyyy homage to one of the most quotable films ever.
Quick post for today, just a franken I've been meaning to do for ages and never got around to it until now. I really wanted the Lippmann party set when it came out but I just couldn't justify it to myself when really, all I needed from the set was Happy Birthday and then I could just franken the rest for myself... I had a weird obsession with Candyshop so I decided to just try to make something similar. The base to Candyshop is more of a baby pink than the hot pink that I ended up choosing but lighter pinks give me corpse hands and not in a good way, so... I used about half a bottle of clear polish, just over a quarter of Essence Circus Confetti and a bit of Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters, then added some Wet n' Wild How I Met Your Magenta. I liked the subtle golden shimmer in it that it added to my jelly base. I wish more jellies had shimmer. I always franken my jellies with a shimmer haha.
It was fairly sheer... I ended up using four coats, but that problem would have been solved with more of HIMYM. I just wanted it to stay all squishy looking. I used topcoat in the pictures but only because I needed it to dry fast. And yes, the bottle is defying gravity again. I don't know why I'm not taking pictures my usual way lately, it's like I'm losing my mind LOL. Now I look at my pictures and think they look dreadful unless I rotate them because I've gotten so used to it.
I wore this to my (horrible and three freaking hours long) night lecture and got three compliments on it in the fifteen minutes before class started. The guy breathing like a pervert next to me felt the need to loudly proclaim that my nails looked like candy. And then he continued to breathe like a pervert and I tried to suppress the urge to punch him in the face. Ahh social delicacy.
That's it for today! What do you lovelies think? Are you wearing pink today? Have you frankened anything recently? I love frankening jellies with glitter because it's the easiest thing ever and is basically idiot-proof... perfect for me!
Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!

Corpse Hands! Remember when you did the dead fish stamp? I miss that..I vote you bring that back.
ReplyDeleteand now I'm itching to add some PO5 glitter to the pink franken I already made with HIMYM...hmmm!
It's lovely! I like the Deborah Lipmann polishes too but they are SO expensive!!
ReplyDeleteLolololol about the pervert, I bet he wanted to lick your fingers jajajajajajaj!!!! Just kidding! Great franken love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love frankening, I have a couple finished ones I need to post and so many more I mixed quick samples of to test them out but haven't actually bottled them. This one is way pretty, the kind of polish that makes you happy just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't shell the money out for the Lippmann set either. Yours is beautiful, love the shimmer!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous franken! I actually prefer that to the Lippman Candy Shop one, the glitter is too dense.
ReplyDeleteMy Pink Wednesday is Connect the Dots over Pink Parka. I'm working on a franken collection now with the color morph pigments =)
These are like.... cup cake nails haha. It makes me think of pink frosting and sprinkles =) Love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't do pink but love your pervert story! So funny!
ReplyDeletethat is so pretty! I might have to attempt this at some point , and I normally don't like pink
ReplyDeleteI just did my first franken EVER and it turned out almost exactly like this! But mine's blue :) Very nice and a much cheaper substitution for the DL polish.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
I was going to comment on the lovely subtle gold shimmer in your Franken ... Sorry about creepy guy in your class... Hopefully he doesn't know About you blog because that would get awkward... I did have a good laugh while reading this though... ;)
ReplyDeleteit DOES look cupcake frosting! totes squishy! I laughed out loud when you tweeted about the heavy breather last night... I thought at least he didn't want to suck your fingers - I know, ewwwwwwwwww! just my sick mind. for pink Wednesday, I'm rocking OPI DS Original, a bit violet, but it's the closest I have to pink.
ReplyDelete>^..^<
That is a gorgeous franken! =)
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhen you say you TRIED to suppress the urge to punch the mouth-breathing pervy, does that mean you decked him?
So pretty:)
ReplyDeleteFunny store about the pervert guy.But the fraken is freaking pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I want a bottle for myself! You should sell!
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute franken! It turned out great! It looks like candy! YUM! :D
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. I like it better than Candy Shop.
ReplyDeleteYup, I think this will be my first attempt at frankening. I love the way yours turned out!
ReplyDeleteVerrry pretty franken! And hate to the pervert breathing guy. I hate people how do that.
ReplyDeleteI love this. I want it now! I can't find party of 5 glitters anywhere :/
ReplyDeleteI looked at several drug stores, nothing.
I love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I actually like your base color better.
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty Im going to have to copy I have all the ingredients you used, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI love this it's so so pretty.
ReplyDelete@Jacqui Oooh I'm dying for those pigments and kicking myself for not getting them when I had the chance! I agree - the glitter in the HB set seems dense. I love me some glitter but if you're slapping it in a jelly base I want to see the base too, you know?
ReplyDelete@Ana I wish I had! I managed to resist the urge to inform that he breathed like a pervert too - it's a shame we can't all say what we're thinking all the time, isn't it? Thanks for commenting! <3
ReplyDelete@Rie (Nails and Noms) I wanna seeeeeeee how yours turns out on your gorgeous nails!
ReplyDelete@KJ Callaway No kidding?! It took me AGES to find it. If you want it and still aren't having any luck, let me know, I've got quite a few bottles!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! it's so pretty!! I needa do some frankening myself too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pink franken! I just frankened Essie's Starry Starry Night. It's a bit less glittery and has more holographic glitters in it. But I'm pretty proud of the result : )
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteYum! I also like this better than Candy Shop! I must try to make it! :) You may wanna put off wearing it again though, as it appears to be a perv magnet. eeeeeeeewww! Hmmm...maybe I should rethink making this frankie, I definitely don't want my own perv saying my nails look like candy. Nasty!
