Sexy and it knows it: Glitter Gal Red 3D Holo

Hello lacquered lovelies! I know it's Pink Wednesday but... well, see my last post. Broken camera = no new swatches = digging into the vault until my new baby gets here! I'm so excited. I don't even know what I'll take pictures with first but there will be a lot of them simply because I can. I didn't realize how many things I use my camera for (besides blogging, actually) so not having one has been a bit painful!

So today I have a pretty polish. Actually, scratch that. It's a sexy little minx and I'm in love with it. AND IT'S RED. Slow down, big rig. I know. Side note: if anybody actually missed my posts, I'm pretty sure I just ruined that.

Anyway, yes. Glitter Gal Red 3D Holo. It was good in two coats but I did three because I wanted to see if I could deepen the colour a bit more.

Side note: These bottles are tiny. Seriously. It's a sign of how small my hands are that I can sort of get them looking normal when I hold them.

*Sigh* Isn't this beautiful? The holo is much stronger in person, I just found capturing it difficult because of the base colour. This has ALMOST killed my lemming for BK 20. Almost. Oh, you haven't seen the sexiness that is BK 20? You're welcome. I've obsessed about Stef's nails before but seriously. I love them so much.

I scooped this lovely up from the awesome Katie at Harlow & Co. Seriously, giving her my money is an absolute pleasure, especially given how craptastic some companies have been with customer service lately. They retail for $14 for 0.3 oz - they're pricey but totally worth it. I'm eyeing Lizard Belly but I'm waiting until Jen posts to decide if I really need it! Answer: I will. Bish.

Quick update... again....

Hi loves. I know I've been a really shitty blogger lately and I'm sorry. This semester has been kicking my ass and between work and school and awful weather (and my laziness in not building a lightbox yet... I confess), I've found blogging more difficult than I have in the time (nearly a year!) that I've been doing this.

I really appreciate everyone who's stuck by me and I promise it will start picking up around here. I had all these plans to make that happen, in fact, since semester ends next week... and then my camera died on me. Straight up shit the bed. One minute I was taking pictures of an awesome glitter, the next minute I got an E32 (or something similar) message, which is apparently a fatal error.

So. I took advantage of your American black Friday sales and ordered a new camera (although I had to cheat the system a bit to get it and have it shipped to Jen... so bad, I know, but it was over $100 more on the Canadian website and nobody's made of money so...), which should be getting to my lovely mule by the middle of next week.

Can I also just mention how sad I am? Like pathetic, not emotionally sad. Although I was devastated when my camera died... it was like losing an old friend. I've had it since my first year, so we've gone through university together! Anyway, when I realized that was the end for my camera, I went to evilbay to... see if I could get the exact same camera. I am a creature of habit.

Alas, I went with another Canon, which I read awesome reviews for, and it sounds like it will suit my purposes well. But... RIP, Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. I'm going to keep you anyway, because you don't cast your friends off because they're old and inefficient hags, right? Exactly.

I've got a couple of swatches, I think, that I can post in the meantime, if they didn't turn out horribly. I will have a look soon. I have those sexy new Ozotics to show you guys too... I'll have to swatch them right away once I get my new baby! They're... I have no words. Also coming up... did I mention Ozotics? A couple of Christmas-y manicures, a sexy sexy layering that made me die a little (a lot) when I tried it out and a stamping idea that's been floating in my head for ages. Can't wait to get my camera to share with you guys!

I'm still alive! Pink Wednesday cheetah nails :)

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy hump day! I know this is the beginning of a long weekend for my US lovelies... yay! It's weird to me that you have Thanksgiving on a Thursday but I guess it's weird to you guys that we have Thanksgiving before Halloween, so... anyone planning on some epic purchases during Black Friday??

Today I have a quick post - I wore this on a Wednesday a few weeks ago so it counts, right? I started out with three coats of OPI Funny Bunny (I picked this up while visiting my parents and was so excited! I was lemming it and it works excellently with jelly sandwiches haha), then stamped using M57 and Revlon Fierce, which I posted on here and I thought it would work well for stamping. And yessss it did, I love it! I added some random bits of a light metallic pink using NOPI It's Possible. I used topcoat but as you can see, I was impatient and it smeared a bit. Boo!

I apologize for my dry cuticles... these abrupt changes in weather we've been having here have been wreaking havoc on my nails (I've filed them down four times in the past couple of weeks!) and my hair :(

I have no willpower but omg unicorn pee: Clarins 230 over Revlon Royal

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Tuesday! How has your week started off? I've been stressed, as what feels like the usual lately... so I decided to use some pretty polishes to cheer myself up!

In case you missed me obsessing about it on twitter (or didn't read the title of this post LOL), I broke down and bought 230. I was terrified that the prices were going to shoot up on it again and I'd regret it and I actually got a very good deal on it, so I'm happy all around. Also it's amazing. I died when I saw it in person. I jumped around in a circle (on the spot, mind) for approximately five minutes ten seconds when I realized what it was.

I've worn 230 twice now, this is the second time. I couldn't get good pictures the first time but that's okay. You'll see 230 again on Glitta Gloves, don't worry. I started out with three coats of the deliciously squishy Revlon Royal (I cannot handle how much I love Royal), then added one coat of 230 and some Revlon quick dry topcoat. Result: hotness. I got the idea for this layering from Jen!

The last picture is shit lighting, I know. It was in my kitchen - I just noticed that at that angle I could see the green (index and part of my middle fingernails), the orange (part of middle and ring finger) and the red (pinky). So cool.

Also 230 is sex in a bottle.

Like how does every nail polish ever not look like this? They could all look exactly the same and I'd still want to own them all.

So yeah. Here's my ode to how sexy 230 is. What do you lovelies think? :) Are there any colours you'd love to see 230 over?

OPI Smitten with Mittens

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Thursday! Yay it's almost Friday!

I'm hoping that everything is okay with this post... I mentioned it in a quick entry, but I bought my domain! :D I wasn't sure how long everything would take to return to normal but it seems to be fine now, from what I've heard from people, so it's worth a shot, right? Today I just have a quick post - OPI Smitten with Mittens. From my love Jen, I was lemming it like woah (what is WITH me and OPI reds with gold glitter?) and she found two bottles and sent one along to me! Thanks bb! <33333

This was two coats and it was SO shiny. I wanted to have a shade picture but you couldn't see any actual details of the polish (not that the sunlight picture helps much either)... just me and trees and my camera LOL! Also, these are older pictures... probably about a month old now? It was just after I shortened my nails, anyway! I always want to wear red when I file them down!

POW! I wanted to have a post up for yesterday but I ran out of time... I actually stamped and didn't hate the outcome! It was shocking for me too. Perhaps soon! I find myself craving reds a lot lately... it's very strange.

What colour do you find yourself reaching for a lot lately?

Quick update...

Hello loves! I just wanted to write a quick post to let you know that things might look a little weird here for the next day or two. I bought my domain (so my blog address will now be glittagloves.com, yay!) and everything might look kind of funny while it all transitions. Layering: Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl and Pure Ice Heart Breaker

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Friday woooooo! Any plans for the weekend? I'm taking a ferry to the mainland to see my parents after class today... I'm so excited! I haven't gotten to see them for a couple of months and I miss them mucho.

I've been waiting impatiently for a bottle of sexiness to arrive so I've been making sure I'm wearing bases to layer it over. Today that hotness arrived, but I had already layered over it... this is what I was wearing when I finally held unicorn pee for the first time! It was beautiful, guys... I jumped around in a circle on the spot for like five minutes from sheer excitement.

I started out with a coat of China Glaze Let's Groove, which I find makes a great base for Daddy's Girl - on its own it takes me about five coats to get bottle colour. Then two coats of Daddy's Girl, then one coat of Pure Ice Heart Breaker. I actually used topcoat this time too! I love the sparkles that the layering brought in but you still get the flakies and hotness of DG... I loved this mani, I got a lot of compliments on it too!

And then I used DG again for another layering... if I get good pictures I will show you lovelies next week!

What do you think? What are some of your favourite combinations with DG? Or with Heart Breaker? I love how versatile HB is... and I never would have gotten it if it wasn't for my love Amanda! Thank you, sweetie! <3333

Magenta Wednesday? Revlon Fierce and Nicole by OPI Sensational Scarlet

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Wednesday! Sorry it's been a while since my last post... I'm behind on life lately. I'm working on papers like a mad woman... I'm writing this post at 2 AM to schedule it. I've been reading about women in WWII in Britain, Germany and the Soviet Union and my eyes feel crossed and I'm just repeating names and dates in my head. So yeah. This is my life right now.

I didn't even post a single Halloween mani! And Halloween is my favourite holiday! I only actually did one but I didn't like it much so I didn't even bother taking pictures. I'm sorry!

So today I have a post but it's not really a pink Wednesday post. Magenta isn't really pink, is it? I did like this one though... I painted my nails Friday night and left this on until Tuesday night! I never leave manis on that long but I've been bagged lately haha. I used Revlon Fierce, which is one of those new foily metallic shades they have out, and Nicole by OPI Sensational Scarlet, because why not. Two coats of Fierce and two coats of Sensational Scarlet layered on my ring finger. And yes, I did use topcoat! Yay me!

I actually quite liked this one, given how unusually girly it is for me. Isn't Fierce pretty? So sparkly.

So, I'm eating alone again (probably in the bathroom like Cady... eww that's so unsanitary) but can I be somewhat forgiven since I actually have a post up? Pretty please?
