Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Wednesday! It feels like forever since I wrote a proper post, but hopefully this will make up for it!
Lately we've all (well, I have) been fawning over excellent frankened glitters. And now they're available to us from a variety of sources. The glitters are unique and the collection concepts are awesome. This is one of them.
Nerd Lacquers are created by a crazy talented lady named Amanda. They're available in her Etsy shop or from the darling Katie of Harlow & Co. If you're still in need of convincing, my love Jen posted awesome swatches of these today! I died.
Each polish is inspired by "sci-fi favourites and other geekery" and they're fabulous. Enough talky talky, onto a LOT of pictures below the cut! I put them under a cut because there's a ton of them and I left them in their extra-large sizing so the details were more visible. :)
Don't Blink
Don't Blink, two coats layered over two coats of China Glaze Pelican Grey, which I happened to have on at the time. Phworrrr. This was the first one I chose to wear and I was in love. I wore it for my first day of classes! Don't Blink has a squishy grey jelly-ish base with silver and black glitter, along with huge chunky silver hex glitter and silver microglitter. It's amazing. It also does not need to be worn layered - that was just how I wore it. All of these are opaque enough to be worn on their own with the exception of the next polish!
Don't Blink is part of the Oi, Spaceman series, inspired by Dr. Who. I'm a huge Anglophile but most people are surprised that I've never really watched Dr. Who. Perhaps I shall try some day!
Pinin' for the Fjords
Pinin' for the Fjords. One coat over Essie Bangle Jangle. This is the only polish that cannot be built up opacity - at least to my preference. That being said, it's beautiful. Pinin' for the Fjords has purple, two shades of blue, big silver hex and micro black glitter. It's crazy. And you know how I feel about black glitter? Yeah, that. These are also awesome because a lot of them feature black glitter. Just saying.
Pinin' for the Fjords is from the Something Completely Different series and it is that!
Argentum
Argentum. Three coats. Such a fascinating polish. At first I was like MEH THERE ARE OTHER PRETTIES... and then I wore this and couldn't take my eyes off of it. It's got silver microglitter with larger hex glitters mixed into an almost foily base. Amazing. Beautiful.
Argentum is from the Alchemist series - Argentum is silver, of course. Did you know that silver has the highest electrical conductivity of the elements? I remember that from chemistry wayyyy back when... because I've always loved silver, I think!
It's Just a Flesh Wound
It's Just a Flesh Wound, two coats. Ahh. Glorious. Inky black base with orange, black and red glitter of varying sizes, mixed in with huge silver hex glitter and microglitter that looks to be black. Such hotness. I'm sure it surprises exactly none of you that I love this one lol!
It's Just a Flesh Wound is also from the Something Completely Different series. This series is aptly named and awesome.
Cold & Calculating
Cold & Calculating, two coats. A very cool-toned purple base with varying sizes of silver hex glitter, deep purple (haha) glitter and small silver and purple glitter. Also awesome. I don't wear purples often but I loved this one!
Cold & Calculating is from the Where No Lacquer Has Gone Before collection. That's the same collection Warrior Ethos is in... which also looks mindblowingly cool.
And last, but certainly not least, is my favourite of the bunch, hence the picspam.
Nebula
Nebula, two coats. Nghhhh it's amazing. It's like a gritty little glitter galaxy. <3 Nebula has a blackened reddish-purple base, which you can see in the next picture... that's the polish at one coat. It's loaded with so much glitter that I'm still not sure I processed it all. Okay. Holographic glitter, fuchsia and red hex glitters, silver glitter... light purple glitter... light pink glitter... I can't even. It's beautiful. Even if you skip the rest of these, you NEED this one.
It obviously dries pretty gritty... which I don't mind at all, but I bet it would look stunning with topcoat too!
OKAY. Ohmygod so many pictures. So, you can get these directly from Amanda's Etsy shop and from Katie of Harlow & Co., though it looks like almost all of these beauties are sold out. Have no fear, though - she'll be getting restock in next week! Yay!
And if you're feeling a bit lucky, head on over to Harlow & Co.'s Facebook page, where there's a giveaway to win a mini quad of Nerd Lacquers of your choice!
I think the main thing for you to accept is that you need at least one. Preferably Nebula but I'd never tell you what to do. ;) If you need more convincing, don't forget to check out Jen's post! I really think I need Warrior Ethos!
Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!
