Some Girly Bits swatches!

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Tuesday! I'm sorry for my vanishing act... after paper hell I have entered exam hell... studying for exams that I could not care less about. In less than a week I'll be done with this degree though...  yay!

Today I have some long overdue swatches. I'm sure you've all heard of Girly Bits by now but if you haven't, click that link! They're beautiful polishes created by the equally lovely Pam. I'm dying to get my paws on a few more and since they're going on sale again soon, allow me to hopefully give you some to ponder! I'm going to use Pam's descriptions for each of her polishes, since I think they're pretty accurate :) This is part one of two - I have one more pretty to show you and a comparison, which I talked about below!

I'm putting the pictures under the cut because I just realised how many there were, holy!

First up is Stormy Skies. Pam describes this as a "medium grey that leans to the dusty teal side. It has a hint of micro glitter that shows gold or green, depending on the skies." And it is gorgeous. It definitely dries with some texture, which I wasn't expecting. This is two coats with topcoat. :)

Next up is Magically Delicious, part of the Calender Girls collection. This is for March, obviously! Pam describes it as "tiny green holographic glitter in a clear base, along with gold squares and gold hex glitter. Representing the Luck of the Irish, and a Pot of Gold." I'm sure it surprises nobody that I love this. I layered two coats of Magically Delicious over Stormy Skies. The gold squares were hard to fish out, but I was determined and managed to get one on my middle fingernail. It kind of curled up weirdly, but I'm not sure if that would be the same for every gold square you fished out or if it's because I had topcoated Stormy Skies and then layered on top of it...?

And finally, probably one of Pam's most popular polishes, Shift Happens. I can clearly remember the first time I saw this polish because I giggled like a tool at the name. Too cute. Pam describes Shift Happens as "a sheer red based layering polish, with strong colour shifts from red to green to gold. Layer Shift Happens over dark colours for the most dramatic effect." I think that description gives it away but in case it didn't, this is touted as a dupe for Clarins 230. I'll have a comparison post with Shift Happens, 230 and Max Factor Fantasy Fire (thanks Esther! <3) soon, but the main difference is, again, in the description - Shift Happens is a red base, 230 is purple. This is two coats of Shift Happens over two coats of Revlon Royal.

If the last picture looks somewhat familiar, it's because I tried to recreate the same one from my post on 230 a while ago!

Girly Bits polishes are waiting for you to check them out on Pam's blog. I highly recommend liking her Facebook page. She shares lots of awesome reviews of her babies and it will keep you in the loop for when they go live next! Most Girly Bits polishes are $6 for a mini bottle and $10 for a full-size bottle - some, like Shift Happens and Cosmic Ocean, are $7 for a mini and $11.50 for a full-size bottle.

So, what do you lovelies think? Do you have your eye on any Girly Bits? I'm dying for Cosmic Ocean and Hippity Hop!

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!
