Neon watermelon: China Glaze Pool Party & I'm With the Lifeguard + LA Girl Uninhibited

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Monday! I'm kind of writing this blindly... I'm not sure if you'll be able to see it. As you guys have probably seen us talking about, there's some kind of malware thing going around and we don't know how to fix it. It won't even let me go to blogger right now... I don't know. I'm terrible with this sort of thing.

As usual, I also want to apologise for my silence again last week. There was a reason, though! I was working, which isn't unusual, but also, my parents, two of my siblings, all four of my grandparents and my favourite aunt and my favourite uncle came up for my graduation. It was on Thursday. It was emotional and awesome and the perfect culmination to four years of work. Someone was rewarded an honourary degree and his story was inspiring. Going up there to get my diploma was a terrifying but proud moment! If you're curious, I now have a BA (Bachelor of the Arts), with my specialisation being history. I'm a BA, aka bad ass... yep. I'm also the coolest. I ended up giving the diploma to my parents... I don't really know what I'd want with it at the moment and my mom seems keen on framing it haha.

Anyway, today I've got a quick, retina-searing post for you. I keep filing my nails down at the moment, I'm loving them short and I'm slowly being able to get them shorter and shorter. The reason I can't have proper nubbins is a bit gross but if you're curious ask me haha. Anyway, this was a manicure I settled on just after I cut them off. I wanted to use a neon with black glitter and I had narrowed it down to either China Glaze Pool Party or China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard. I asked for advice on twitter and instagram and the lovely Anastasia of Lac Attack suggested that I use both. Brilliant! So that's exactly what I did.

I started out with two coats of Pool Party on all of my fingers except my ring, where I did two coats of I'm With the Lifeguard. After that dried, I added a coat of LA Girl Uninhibited. I know, I use it a lot. I need like 400 back up bottles haha. I topped it all off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast, because it was a bit textured.

I'm With the Lifeguard is so prettyyyyy. I wore it as a full manicure this weekend! I didn't think I needed any of the new ChG neons but I have a feeling I'll slowly accumulate the whole collection... hoarder problems, amiright?

What do you lovelies think? Have you been rocking any neons lately?

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!

  5. Congratulations on getting your BA! ^_^

I'm going to try a watermelon mani soon, but I don't have these great, bright colours to work with--I love how they compliment each other! The black glitter over them totally pulls the whole look together, and I can totally see the watermelon--very cute! :D

  6. I don't even have a frame for my diploma...I taped it to the fridge. I don't know what to do with it! What do people even do with their diplomas (besides give them to their parents?)
