China Glaze Out on Safari

Hello lacquered lovelies! Hope you're all having a good start to your week :) I'm so happy - I'm seeing Fiona Apple tonight! Any other fans out there? I found a couple on twitter but it's always nice to have more friends to obsess about my queen with. For those of you who haven't heard of her (omg I'm so sorry that you haven't), here are some of my favourites. Yes, each word is a link. Her album/touring schedule is far from regular (the last album came out in 2005, before that it was 1999, her first album was out in 1996... I was six!) so I'm thrilled that my roommate and I will be seeing her this go round, because we missed her on her last tour.

Anyway, today's post is a polish that I lusted after for ages before finally managing to get my greedy paws on it. I can't believe I haven't shown it on here, since I wear it fairly often, but I think it's because I kept having issues photographing it, as I did this time. Basically it's flawless and you need it.

This is China Glaze Out on Safari. It's a khaki green with really lovely shimmer in it that I *think* looks green most of the time but don't quote me on that. It's a sexy little minx and I adore it. Bit of a thin formula, as I find with most of my old chemically polishes, but it's nice to work with. This is three coats. :)

N;aghja;sdkjghsd I love this polish so much haha. What do you lovelies think? Do you own this beauty? I have a soft spot for old China Glaze polishes... is it obvious? ;)

I leave you today with another one of my favourite Fiona Apple songs... the guy in the video might look familiar too. ;)

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!

Chemicals! OPI Blue Moon Lagoon

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy hump day :) I hope you're all having a good week so far!

Today I've just got a quick post on another sexy older polish. This is OPI Blue Moon Lagoon. This beauty is from the Summer for Shore collection (early 2000s I believe?), which is full of awesome polishes that I hope to get my hands on some day. For now, I've got this one!

Blue Moon Lagoon is a silvery pale blue linear holo. It's much more holo than my photos show - I really try but my newer camera just can't seem to capture holos the way my old one could. I miss that camera. It is sheer, I needed at least three coats, possibly four, if I remember correctly. Worth it. It smells awesome too.

Isn't it pretty? Summer is the best for holos isn't it? What do you lovelies think? Do you own any polishes from this collection?

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!

Sexy vintage: China Glaze Drinkin' My Blues Away

Hello lacquered lovelies! I hope you're all having a good week so far. Mine's been okay, did some visiting with my aunt over the weekend, it was lovely to see her :)

Before I get into today's post, I just wanted to thank you all for being so awesome and sweet about the videos I posted last week. A couple of people have asked for more, one on using cuticle removers (I am obsessed), one on how I shape my nails and a basic manicure tutorial. Right now I'm really not happy with the length or shape of my nails, I recently filed them all down and got a little crazy on a couple of nails. But once they're at a length I feel more comfortable with I will definitely get working on those!

So, today's polish is a sexy little thing. You guys know I love my older polishes and this is one that I've been lemming for ages! I was lucky enough to get it from Jasmine's blog sale a while back and I swatched it to include in a vintage week, which won't really be a week, but the next few posts will be some of my favourite HTFs that I've been lucky enough to get my paws on.

Drinkin' My Blues Away is a chemical-filled little thing and it's beautiful. I know a lot of people will be asking if it's similar to Blue Iguana - have no fear, I shall have a comparison post up soon. Basically no, it's not. To the average person I imagine they look the same, but to us? Don't worry, friends. You'll see the differences. ;)

This was three coats. It's a bit sheer but definitely buildable. No topcoat :)

Balkdhjsg;lasdhg;jsd it's so prettyyyyyy! What do you lovelies think? What's your favourite old school polish?

Video bloopers

Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Saturday :) Here's another quick video, people wanted to see some of the bloopers that came about from filming my first tutorial (I filmed the intro like 12 different times because I was so tongue-tied... for all the good it did me lol - also evidenced by my make up changing haha) so yeah. Almost all of the footage that I didn't use was bloopers so I just picked ones that made me chuckle with shame when I viewed them.

Ummmmmm if you don't like swearing/don't want to hear me swear you probably shouldn't watch this. Just saying.

Thanks for watching, if you did! Have a beautiful day!

Video tutorial: manicure clean up

Hello lacquered lovelies! I'm so anxious about posting this but I finally got a tripod so I didn't have an excuse to put it off any longer... I get a lot of questions about how I clean up my manicures so I finally decided to make a video tutorial. If your internet connection is slower or you're having issues loading the video, there's a great picture tutorial that you should check out here!

So... here we go, I guess? I know that I'm super like tongue-tied in this, I felt so strange talking to myself and my roommate was out of town when I was filming this so I wasn't exactly practiced at talking at anything that didn't involve shoes at work haha.

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!
