Hello lacquered lovelies! Happy Thursday! I hope you're all having a good week. It's another TVD day. I may die of the anxiety. And of course my birthday is on a Thursday this year! I turn 23 on February 7th... craziness. I feel old!
Anyway, I've just got a quick post for you today of a new beauty that you may consider picking up. When Jen posted the China Glaze Glitz Bitz 'n Pieces collection I was amazed that I actually wanted them, since they contain bar glitter. I'm not a bar glitter person AT ALL, but when I wandered across them in person about a week ago, I immediately texted Jen and asked her which ones I needed. She, of course, replied right away with the two that I was already holding! Brain twins, no? It was kinda creepy, I laughed like a nutter and the girl in the store was staring at me like I was dangerous.
Anyway, so I picked up two from this collection (so far?). This is the first one I have to share with you, Graffiti Glitter, which is gorgeous emerald green glitter mixed in with the black hexes and bars. I tried to channel Jen, since she layered hers over a super pale green (Zoya Neely), but since I don't own Neely yet, I picked a green that wouldn't give me mad lobster hands, Orly Gumdrop. I always remember Gumdrop as being much mintier than it really is, but I digress.
Application on Graffiti Glitter was okay. It was a bit thick, but I'll probably thin it before I wear it the next time. I also noticed that the bars tended to build up a bit on the brush. I always paint my thumbnails first, then go from pinky to index, so you can tell that my index fingernail ended up getting a lot more bars than the nails I did first. Kinda interesting.
While I'm thinking about it, can any of you recommend a minty green that won't give me lobster hands? What are your favourite minty green polishes?
Two coats of Gumdrop, one of Graffiti Glitter and CND Air Dry.
That's it, short and sweet. What do you guys think? Are you eyeballing any of these? Like I said, I'm surprised at how much I like them... I'd still prefer these exact glitters minus the bars though, I think!

Thanks for reading! Have a beautiful day!

I just picked this up yesterday, too! :) I got this one and the silver. I will probably only get any of the others if they end up marked down.
ReplyDeleteI like it ok, but not enough to invest. I agree about the bars, though I may get this style of shade but in another color.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out what "lobster hands" means, haha!
ReplyDeleteI like Orly Jealous, Much? for a light green, but it may lean more tealy than minty. You could look that one up?
- Sara
Hi Sara! I didn't know what it meant for the longest time either, it just means that my hands look super red! I just googled Jealous, Much? and it's so pretty! I'll have to hunt it down. This is a neverending quest hehe!
Deletepretty! butter LONDON Fiver is a beautiful mint!
ReplyDeleteMAD lobster hands on me when I tested it :( I thought I would be safe since it's fairly blue-based but it was horrible haha!
DeleteI really like this one, as well as the rest in the collection.
ReplyDeleteI agree...I'm not a huge fan of the bar glitters, but these are still fun polishes!
ReplyDeleteYes! If they released this whole collection over again but without the bars my head would explode. I'm shameless for black glitter haha!
DeletePretty mani. Happy early birthday...btw you're not old. I turn 30 in march :-/
ReplyDelete30 isn't old either, my dear! <3
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeletei think they are just so cute :)
ReplyDeleteI won't get them for myself but I like these polishes on others.
ReplyDeleteI had to try them out and I'm glad I did - if you decide to give them a shot I hope you like them too!
DeleteLovely colour combination!! I don't like big bar glitters I'm affrraid (only those tiny mousehair ones are do-able), one or two I can live with but whole clumbs.....ieuw?! OPI Mermaid's Tears works for me as a light green :)
ReplyDeleteI love MT! I just wish it was a bit... mintier? Haha!
DeleteGreat combo - I might wear mine like that too!
